Another weird thing? Joss said in an interview awhile ago that he kept the "Fray" scythe.
Hmmm. Multiple versions? Wouldn't surprise me, for props that would be used in battle.

Yes. Plastic props like this would have been made in triplicate (or more) for scene run-throughs, stunts, and distance shots.
I'm sure Josh has the real metal axe that would have only rarely been on-camera.
