Having trouble revising your novel? Nanoedmo provides the support and deadline pressurefor one solid revision. Editing starts March 1. Just clock 50 hours of actual rewriting by midnight, March 31, and you're a winner.

Am I doing this? Oh heck yeah. If people are interested, I'll crank WiD back up and participants can use it as a forum. Let me know if you're interested in participating and I'll set you up (if you need to be set up -- most of the WiD-ows are still able to post).

CNN.com - Put a stake in it: Gellar leaving 'Buffy'.

Bears-cave.com - Eh. I never really though Gellar was the best part of that show... in a number of ways she was something I had to deal with in order to enjoy something else, so I wouldn't be adverse to a spin-off.

That said, it's been a great run (certainly one that will keep even minor recurring characters in pizza and beer for the rest of their lives even if they never work again, thanks to syndication) with some fantastic moments, and I'm looking forward to the next thing from both the cast and Whedon.

In other news, Firefly is still cancelled while Birds of Prey airs it's 2-hour season (not series) finale this week.

Translation, there is no justice (or taste) in the television industry.

Road to Perdition and The Ring available for preorder or coming out RSN. Cool.

Also, someone mentioned (Stan?) that the BBC's Neverwhere miniseries was going to be out on DVD soonish, but damned if I can find anything on it.

Picking up where Episode II left off, the saga of the Clone Wars will continue through animated shorts premiering this year from the Cartoon Network and Lucasfilm Ltd. Star Wars: Clone Wars will be a series of 20 animated shorts that will air on the Cartoon Network in 2003-2004 between other programming.
Helming this new series is Genndy Tartakovsky, the acclaimed creator of "Samurai Jack" and "Dexter's Laboratory." The episodic shorts will be two- to three-minutes in length and will air exclusively on Cartoon Network at regularly scheduled times beginning this fall.

Sadly, I'm considerably more interested in this than I am about Episode III, and I don't even get cartoon network right now.

BBspot - Man Hopes Episode III Doesn't Ruin His Childhood

Gloria Wilkens from Lucasfilms said, "Mr. Lucas realizes how important the films are to millions of fans around the globe and appreciates their concerns. That is why he's taken even more control of Episode III than any of the other films."

BTW

one word is a really fun writing project. Highly recommend.

I couldn't see beyond the row of masked and helmeted police to the street beyond. The worst of it was that I'd seen my wife slip around the side of the quickly forming line just before the riot control shields had been locked into place and the rest of us useless public trash had been forced back by the --

from Studiofoglio:
We are abashed to say that Girl Genius issue Nine will be late due to sickness and a missed deadline. The issue has been re-solicited, a lengthy process which delays the release until June 2003

Daredevil was pretty darned good. Too much twirling of sais and people with the proportional jumping (or at least landing) ability of grasshoppers, but still good stuff.

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen looks good but only inspired by the comic. Bulletproof Monk looks very good. The Hulk... probably gonna be a train wreck.

We could be more Geeky, But this would be hard to top.

Looks like Buffy might continue with Faith (Eliza Dushku) Being in charge.

Right. Don't know if Doyce ever saw this or not, but a quick perusal of the "Geeky Fan Boy" archive yielded no hits.

Those that know me know I was involved in the AI Online Game that went on in 2001. They know because I wouldn't stop talking about it and the Cloudmakers and whatnot.

Thanks to the Cloudmakers site (which I hadn't visited since the game) I just found out that ABC created an Alias Online Adventure Game last year, where players pretend to join the CIA and solve puzzles on the Internet. It seems to have a good following and is still going strong.

Not like Doyce needs another obsession in his life, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention it, at least.

I do enjoy a good laugh at our expense.

Panel 2

Angel: Season One -- out on DVD today.

Meanwhile, we're off to see 'The Complete History of America (abridged)' by the Reduced Shakespeare Company (looks like three guys).

1. No one has killed each other yet.
2. I fried the charger for my Palm. Fried. Smoked. Many words that should happen to fish and not electronics.
3. Rain. Rain. Also British museum and lots of pictures of dead people.

God save the Queen. That is all.

From Sci-Fi wire...

A possible new show with Faith.

Also from the ABC site, Alias: Online Adventure -- which looks like some sort of cheap knock-off of the 'interactive real-time' games that were starting up last year (after the AI promo started it) and then sort of dropped off the map in seconds.

I haven't messed with this yet, so no bets on whether it's incredibly lame, kinda cool, or both.

You can download Alias Underground from the ABC site. The game is basically a cheaper (looking), less-sophisticated Tomb Raider interface.

Upside1: downloadable missions continue to be added, and all seem to be based off of actual scenes from the show.

Upside2: Voice acting is all done by the actual actors from the show, which means you get even more sound bytes from Marshall. Bonus!

Downside: Did I mention the poorly done graphics and simplistic interface?

Still, IMO, it's worth it just to hear Marshall during the training episode.

During the trip (leaving next Saturday!), I think I'm going to write up a little story. One entry for each day, based off things that happened, but...

well, you know... twisted, like. Slightly off plumb.

Then I'll post it. Just see if I don't.
